According to news.smh.com.au, the French police were set Sunday to continue questioning Jerome Kerviel, who investigators said wants to explain his role in the seven billion dollar loss at Societe Generale.
Excuse me, what? Mr Jerome Kerviel to explain his role, his role…..wow! Okay.
Kerviel, who had not been seen since the finance industry’s biggest fraud losses were revealed on Thursday, arrived at the headquarters of the Paris financial police on Saturday in a police van and was held for questioning.
Kerviel “presented himself voluntarily to police. He is still in custody. According to the police, Jerome Kerviel is cooperating and is ready to explain himself,” Jean-Michel Aldebert, head of the Paris prosecutor’s finance section, told journalists.
While this is all happening, Societe Generale (the bank) has filed a criminal complaint alleging the use of falsified documents and unauthorised computer access.
Kerviel’s family has insisted he is innocent—that’s expected anyway.
