Remember my previous article: your computer is infected! Well after doing more research and having my computer screwed up for a couple of days, I figured out what was causing it: a rouge/ trojon going by the name: Antivirus xp 2008: The good news is that I have a cure for it.
How to get rid of Antivirus XP 2008.
QUICK NOTE: It is different than the XP Antivirus 2008 most sites refer to.. please see the pictures:
STEP 1. (OPTIONAL: FOR TECHIES: ALL OTHERS CAN SKIP THIS STEP:
1. Got to the Start menu and click Run
Type Regedit
Browse to
a. Hkey_Local_MAchine/Software/rhc5m5j0ev0p
b. Hkey_Local_MAchine/Software/lphc35dj0e1an
and remove the above 2 entries.
STEP 2. (You can Start here and get the same results)
1. Stop the program from loading on startup. How you ask?
Click > Start,
Go on to >Run and click Run
2. Type msconfig
3. select the Startup tab
Look for the following programs checked to run on start up:
a. Uncheck: lphc35dj0e1an
b. Uncheck: rhc75dj0e1an
Click apply, and then click ok
4. Restart computer
5. Delete the main files(Folders) the program uses. Delete the following file:
a. C:\windows\system32\lphc35dj0e1an.exe (where “C:” is the letter for your harddrive)
Then delete the following folder and all files in it:
b. C:\program files\rhc75dj0e1an
Although this will remove the program from your system you still have a warning message displayed as your wallpaper in Windows–the reason is that the virus removed the ability to change the wallpaper or your desktop settings. We are almost done, hand in there….
To restore ability to change your desktop settings and select a different wallpaper follow the instructions below.
STEP 3.
1. Go to >Start > Run
type: Gpedit.msc
Navigate to User configuration> Administrative Templates> Control Panel> Display
2. Right click on Remove Display in Control Panel
3. Click on Properties and select Disabled
4. Do the same steps to change the following attributes to disabled:
a. Hide Desktop Tab
b. Prevent changing wallpaper
c. Hide Appearance and Themes tab
d. Hide Settings tab
e. Hide Screen Saver tab
You should now be able to use your computer normally and change the wallpaper to something other than the warning message Antivirus XP 2008 set it to…..Hahaha DONE! You did it, you are the mannnn or woman no I got to be politically correct! Mmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhh…you get the picture.
Once you are done, you can click here to download a scanning tool: Recommended: This tool will scan and clean up your system:
Tools Needed for this fix:
Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware: Click here to download the tool: Do a full system scan:Delete all the entires that appear on the list
The Download windows system defender and as well scan the entire system: Remove all the system entires that appear on the list as well

I have done the steps to remove Antivirus XP 2008, however, I still have the display that shows Antivirus XP 2008 and I can change the display settings. I tried running Gpedit.msc but I get an error saying it can’t be found. Is there another way to run that?
